1. Who these guidelines cover
These guidelines are Flendy’s user content policy. They apply to everyone on Flendy, on the web and in the Flendy app: brands, agencies and their teams, creators and clippers, spotters, and anyone who opens a share or approval link. They cover everything people write, send or upload on Flendy, including:
- messages in conversations between brands and creators;
- campaign briefs, offers and counter-offers written by brands;
- pitches and applications written by creators;
- drafts, deliveries and campaign posts: the files, links and captions creators send or post for a campaign;
- profiles: names, handles, photos, bios, logos and brand pages;
- reviews, feedback and help requests.
They sit alongside the acceptable use policy, which covers fake views, fraud and misuse of the service, and the disclosure guidelines, which cover labelling paid posts. All three are part of the terms of service and the creator agreement.
2. Zero tolerance
Flendy has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Anyone who posts or sends the following is removed from Flendy, usually permanently and without a warning first:
- any sexual content involving a person under 18, or anything that sexualises, grooms or exploits children (see “Child safety” below);
- sexual content or nudity, sexual harassment, or unwanted sexual messages or requests;
- threats of violence, encouraging violence or self-harm, or content that glorifies terrorism or violent extremism;
- hate speech: attacking or demeaning people for their ethnicity, tribe, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or illness;
- harassment, bullying, intimidation or repeated contact after someone has asked you to stop;
- sharing someone’s private information (their address, phone number, ID or bank details) without permission, or intimate images of anyone without their consent;
- scams, phishing, fake job offers, advance-fee or “double your money” schemes, and asking anyone for a password, sign-in code, BVN or bank PIN;
- pretending to be another person, brand or Flendy staff;
- selling or promoting illegal goods or services, including illegal drugs, weapons and counterfeit goods.
3. Messages
Conversations on Flendy are for the work: briefs, offers, deliveries, feedback and payment. Keep them professional.
- Allowed: questions about a brief, negotiating a fee or dates, sending drafts and feedback, honest disagreement, and saying no.
- Not allowed: insults, threats, sexual remarks, pressure after someone has declined, spam or chain messages, messages unrelated to the work, and links to malware or to sites pretending to be Flendy.
- Don’t ask to move payment or the conversation off Flendy to avoid fees, and don’t ask for personal contact details you don’t need for the deal. A delivery address for a product deal is shared through Flendy, only when the creator accepts.
- Never send or ask for passwords, sign-in codes, BVNs, ID numbers or bank PINs. Flendy staff will never ask for them.
4. Campaign briefs and offers (brands)
Briefs and offers are what creators decide on, so they must be honest and complete.
- Be clear about pay. The fee, rate, product or commission shown must be what you’ll pay. No “exposure only” offers dressed up as paid work, and no hidden conditions.
- Be clear about the work. State the deliverables, dates, revisions and usage rights. Don’t ask for work beyond the deal without a new offer.
- Only lawful products and claims. Nothing the acceptable use policy prohibits. Regulated products (alcohol, betting, financial products, medicines, supplements) need the approvals the law requires before the content runs, and must never be aimed at under-18s.
- Never ask creators to hide that a post is paid, to make claims you can’t prove, or to fake reviews or testimonials.
- No briefs that ask for sexual content, content that mocks or targets a group, dangerous stunts, or content that puts the creator or others at risk.
- Treat creators with respect, whether you accept, counter or decline their pitch. Give feedback that matches the brief.
5. Pitches and applications (creators)
- Pitch honestly. Your stats, past work and audience must be your own and accurate. Don’t claim results you didn’t get.
- Only apply with accounts you own or run, and only offer what you can deliver.
- No spam: don’t paste the same pitch to every campaign regardless of fit, and don’t message a brand repeatedly after they’ve declined.
- Name your price openly in the pitch or counter-offer. Don’t ask for side payments.
6. Drafts, deliveries and posts
- Your own work. Send and post only content you made or have the rights to, including music, footage, people and locations.
- People in your content must have agreed to appear, and no one under 18 may appear in a sexualised, unsafe or exploitative way.
- Label it. Every campaign post is advertising and must be labelled as described in the disclosure guidelines.
- Honest claims. Say only what you believe is true about the product. Follow the brand’s approved wording for regulated products.
- Within the platforms’ rules. Campaign posts must also meet TikTok’s, Instagram’s and YouTube’s own community guidelines. A post the platform removes stops counting.
Files sent as drafts are shared only with the brand in the deal and Flendy staff who need to see them.
7. How to report
If you see anything that breaks these guidelines, report it. You don’t have to be sure; we’d rather look.
In the Flendy app
- Open the conversation, message, campaign or offer.
- Tap the … menu and choose Report.
- Pick a reason, add a note if it helps, and send.
By email
On the web, or for anything the menu doesn’t cover (including a brand reporting a creator, or a scam using Flendy’s name outside Flendy), email safety@flendy.co with a link or screenshot and a line on what happened.
We don’t tell the person you reported who reported them. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services first, then tell us.
8. Blocking a brand
Creators can block a brand at any time, for any reason.
- Open a conversation, campaign or offer from that brand.
- Tap the … menu and choose Block.
Once blocked, the brand can’t message you, send you offers or invite you to campaigns, and its campaigns and messages are hidden from you. The brand isn’t told you blocked it. If you have a deal running with that brand, tell us with Report or at safety@flendy.co so we can settle it fairly; blocking doesn’t cancel money you’ve already earned.
To unblock, go to Settings › Blocked brands and tap Unblock. Blocking and reporting are separate: if a brand broke these guidelines, report it as well, so we can act.
9. What we do about reports
A person on Flendy’s team reviews every report within 24 hours. We may also use automated checks to find content that breaks these guidelines. Depending on what we find, we:
| What we found | What we do |
|---|---|
| Nothing against the guidelines | Close the report. You can still block the brand. |
| A first, minor breach (for example an off-topic or rude message) | Remove the content and warn the person. |
| A misleading brief or offer | Remove or pause the campaign or offer until it's fixed. |
| Repeated breaches, harassment or abuse | Remove the content, remove the person from campaigns and suspend or close their account. |
| Anything under “Zero tolerance” | Remove the content and eject the user from Flendy permanently. We may stop them opening a new account. |
| Illegal content or a risk to someone's safety | All of the above, keep the evidence, and report it to the relevant authorities. |
Removing content doesn’t take away money a creator earned for genuine work; money earned through fraud is handled under the payout terms. We’ll tell the person we acted against what we removed and why, unless the law or a safety concern stops us. We’ll tell you when we’ve acted on your report.
10. Appeals
If we removed your content or restricted your account and you think we got it wrong, reply to our message or email safety@flendy.co within 30 days, saying what you think we missed. Someone who wasn’t involved in the first decision will look again and reply within 7 days. If we find we were wrong, we’ll restore what we can. Decisions about child sexual abuse material are not reversed.
11. Child safety
Flendy is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use Flendy, as a creator, spotter, brand or team member, and we close any account we find belongs to someone under 18.
We do not tolerate child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content or behaviour that sexualises, grooms or endangers children. When we find it, we remove it immediately, close the accounts involved, keep the evidence as the law requires, and report it to law enforcement and the relevant child protection authorities, including the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where appropriate. Never forward or download such material to report it: send us the link or tell us where you saw it at safety@flendy.co.
12. Law enforcement
- We cooperate with law enforcement and regulators when the law requires it. We disclose data only in response to valid legal process, and only what it covers.
- Where we believe there’s a risk of death or serious harm to someone, we may share the minimum information needed with the authorities without waiting for formal process.
- Law enforcement requests go to safety@flendy.co, from an official address, naming the account and the legal basis.
- How we handle personal data in these cases is in the privacy policy.
13. Contact
Reports, appeals and safety concerns: safety@flendy.co. Privacy questions: privacy@flendy.co. Anything else: hello@flendy.co. We’ll update these guidelines as Flendy changes and change the date at the top.
